The Adventure

Where the Rainforest
Meets the Sea

The Matelot to Blanchisseuse trail is widely regarded as Trinidad's most spectacular and challenging coastal hike. Beginning at the remote fishing village of Matelot on the island's northeastern tip, the route carves through ancient rainforest, negotiates boulder-strewn river crossings, and traces breathtaking clifftop paths above the turbulent North Coast.

Island Hikers brings you Hikeathon 2026 — a once-a-year, fully supported endurance event for those who refuse to be ordinary. 400 hikers. 30 kilometres. One unforgettable day.

📍Meeting: Mount Hope Medical Carpark

What Hikers Say

Trail Stories

Hear from past participants who conquered the North Coast Trail with Island Hikers.

The most epic thing I've ever done in Trinidad. 30km through untouched rainforest, river crossings, cliff views — and the finish line at Blanchisseuse beach? Unreal. Island Hikers made it seamless.
